Cover Letter

Abstract: This cover letter is for the application of a summer internship at Northrop Grumman. It provides suttle details about the job. But it mostly highlights my proposal to the reader to view my resume. It goes mildly into details of why I may be a good fit for the job and it also mentions some of my highlighted experiences as a college student.

Dave Keldsen, Talent Acquisition Manager
Northrop Grumman, Falls Church, VA

Greetings Mr. Keldsen,
I’m writing to you to express my interest in the Mechanical Engineer position you have open in
your company website as “2020 Associate Engineer Mechanical” with job ID# 19031044. I am a
rising freshman in The City College of New York pursuing a Bachelor’s degree on Mechanical
Engineering. I am a FIRST Alumni and I am confident that my experience and skills are a good
match for this position.

I have a strong understanding of machinery, electrics and robotics through my experience in a
robotics team named, Team 6636: Full Metal Beavers over the past two years. I contributed to
the achievement of awards such as Team Spirit award and Instagram award. I helped achieve this
by managing the team’s communication over several different departments and by leading
creative projects. I also helped to create a new highest ranking of our team from 44th/52th to
12th/52th. My leadership on communication, electrical construction and defense architecture on
a fully operational robot helped to set this new performance. Besides my role as a manager in a
robotics team, there are details about my other experiences and accomplishments on my resume.
I invite you to have a look at it.

I am confident that my experience, skills and leadership would make me a great candidate for
this position and a great asset to your company. I would appreciate it if you send me an email at
the email address above to schedule an interview at your convenience. I am thankful of your
consideration to look into my application and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Abdullah A. Samit
