Subject: Northrop Grumman Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
This memo is an evaluation of a specific code of ethics regarding Northrop Grumman’s Business Conduct. This memo will provide an understanding of a certain element of the code of ethics that can be further improved.
As an aeronautic manufacturing company, Northrop Grumman has implemented its values to safety. They are very much aware of the customer’s safety concerns but they are not so specific about the potential workspace dangers for employees.
You asked for the evaluation of a specific part of the ethic that can be improved. After a thorough revision of the safety value, it is conclusive that it needs more specification to work-related safety measures.
Northrop Grumman can improve by including workspace related potential dangers and machinery mishaps. They can include all the safety measures they take against such accidents. They should also include a general inspection process of products that assures the customer’s trust in their products.
Northrop Grumman’s Standards of Business Conduct mentions their employee safety only by indirect means. Such as consultancy and financial guidance. Although they have a dedicated program called Employee Assistance Program (EAP), its description does not promise to oversee work related injuries.
I hope this gives an overview of the safety values of Northrop Grumman. If you have any questions regarding the code of ethics please let me know.
Thank you,
Abdullah Samit
